Graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Malaga, 1979.

MIR in Rheumatology at the Hospital "Carlos Haya" Malaga, 1982-1986.

Medical Specialist in the Rheumatology Service, Hospital Reina Sofia de Cordoba, 1987-1997.

Doctor of Medicine in 1990 by the University of Cordoba.

Research stay at the Lupus Unit, St. Thomas Hospital (London), 1993-1994.

Senior Research Fellow, Lupus Unit, St. Thomas' Hospital, London 1998-2000.

Arthritis Research Campaign (ARC) Fellow, Lupus Research Unit, St. Thomas' Hospital (London), 2000-2005.

Her main areas of research are:

  • Clinical and treatment aspects of systemic lupus erythematosus
  • Mechanisms of Thrombosis and Treatment of Anti-Phospholipid Syndrome
  • Clinical and treatment aspects in pregnancy of systemic autoimmune diseases

As a researcher

She is the co-author of more than 50 chapters of books in her specialty.

In the last two years she has presented more than 15 papers in national and international congresses of her specialty.
