The Clínica Universidad de Navarra, along with the Centre for Applied Medical Research (Centro de Investigación Médica Aplicada, CIMA), has acquired the first 3-Tesla magnetic resonance imaging scanner used in Spain for research and the third for healthcare purposes.
This scanner has greater power for the morphological study of the human body.
From the healthcare standpoint, the patient gains convenience because the scanner provides better quality imaging in a shorter time, reducing patient waiting time. Within the Molecular Radiology area, the scanner provides new possibilities for the early diagnosis of cancer.
In collaboration with the CIMA lines of research, the scanner is also used for the study of Alzheimer's and Parkinson’s disease.
