Preferred focus: the study and treatment of urologic tumors, the development of minimally invasive surgical techniques (laparoscopic and robotic surgery), as well as advanced endourology techniques for urinary stone disease and benign prostatic hyperplasia (laser surgery, HoLEP).

Professional career

Medical Degree, Universidad de Navarra (2005).

Urology specialty training (MIR), Hospital de Navarra (2006–2011).

Director of medical X-ray facilities (Spanish Nuclear Safety Council), 2010. 

Fellow of the European Society of Sexual Medicine (2011).

Urology attending physician, Hospital Universitario Donostia (2011–2020). Lead of the prostate laser surgery program since 2013.

Animal Research Training Certification, 2013.

PhD cum laude in Medicine and Surgery, Universidad de Salamanca (2015).

Experience in advanced endourology for urinary stone disease since 2006.

Experience in advanced laparoscopy since 2007: nephrectomy, partial nephrectomy, nephroureterectomy, adrenalectomy, lymphadenectomy, and radical prostatectomy.

Experience in robotic surgery since 2011.

Experience in prostate laser techniques since 2012: GreenLight laser and more than 600 patients treated with the HoLEP technique.

RESEARCH AREAS

  • Clinical research in Urology, Hospital de Navarra (2007–2011).
  • Development of endourologic surgical techniques for benign prostatic hyperplasia.
  • He has collaborated on five research projects.
  • Expert (Proctor) and Scientific Collaborator at Werfen – Izasa Hospital in holmium laser techniques for benign prostatic hyperplasia since 2018.
