Dr. Gabriel Gastaminza
Director of the Department of Allergy and Clinical Immunology.
Preferred focus on the study and treatment of asthma, occupational respiratory disease, and atopic and contact dermatitis.
Professional career
Medical Degree (1987) and PhD in Medicine (2002), Universidad del País Vasco. Allergy Specialist at Hospital Santiago Apóstol, Vitoria-Gasteiz (1993). Master’s in Bioethics, Universidad de Navarra (2007).
Since 2006, specialist physician and, since November 2022, Director of the Department of Allergy and Clinical Immunology at Clínica Universidad de Navarra.
RESEARCH AREAS
- Member of the ARADYAL cooperative thematic research network, which brings together research teams in Spain working on food and drug allergies. Member of the SEAIC Drug Allergy Committee.
- He currently leads a bioengineering research project with an associated patent aimed at developing a new system for reading allergy tests. He leads several research lines in drug allergy.
- He participates in the department’s main projects on food allergy and the search for new forms of immunotherapy.
- He coordinates multiple research teams with the departments of Anesthesiology, Dermatology, Microbiology and Infectious Diseases, and Otolaryngology.
- He participates in several clinical trials with new molecules for the treatment of atopic dermatitis, bronchial asthma, and urticaria.
