  • Co-investigator in the clinical trial “Randomized, controlled, open-label clinical trial to evaluate the efficacy and safety of cyclosporine plus standard treatment vs standard treatment alone in hospitalized patients with COVID-19 infection” (2020).
  • Doctoral dissertation titled “Study of the interferon signaling cascade in chronic hepatitis C,” defended at the University of Navarra, March 2006.

AREAS OF INTEREST

  • Non-invasive mechanical ventilation in acute exacerbations of chronic respiratory failure.
  • Experience in the Liver Transplant Unit: management of pre-transplant patients (evaluation) and post-transplant patients in the immediate postoperative period in the ICU, with short- and long-term follow-up. Evaluation and treatment of cirrhosis and its complications. Evaluation and treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma.
  • Hospital medicine: support for surgical specialties, providing co-management from day 1 of admission for patients hospitalized in Orthopedics/Traumatology, General Surgery, Neurosurgery, and Interventional Radiology. Support for other surgical specialties in patients stratified as high nosocomial risk.
  • Prevention and treatment of perioperative infectious complications.
  • Clinical ultrasound.
