Professional career
Nursing Diploma, University of Navarra, 1991.
Specialisation in Nursing on a medical ward, 1994.
Completed the “Basic Course in Oncology Nursing” in 1992, with certification from the European College of Cancer Care.
Staff nurse on the Internal Medicine and Oncology inpatient wards from 1991 to 2002.
Completed the FEAED Therapeutic Education in Diabetes Course in 2004.
Nurse educator in the Day Hospital of the Diabetes Unit, Department of Endocrinology and Nutrition, Clínica Universidad de Navarra, from 2002 to the present.
RESEARCH AREAS
- Diabetes education and follow-up of patients with diabetes.
AREAS OF INTEREST
- Instructor on the Diabetes Education course for people with diabetes from 2002 to the present.
- Teaching sessions for students in the Internal Medicine and Surgical Nursing Specialty.
- Associate Clinical Professor at the university nursing school for several academic years, including the current one.
- Development of the protocol “Management of diabetic patients in the emergency department” and training for emergency and outpatient clinic nurses at the Clínica Universidad de Navarra.
- Teaching collaborator in numerous courses and diploma programmes at the University of Navarra from 2010 to the present.
- Lecturer on the course “Diabetes Mellitus”, delivered at the Navarra Nursing Council between 14 and 18 April 2008.
- Presentation “Diet and Diabetes” at the debate forum “Update in Diabetes”. Pamplona, 6 October 2015.
- Presentation “Foundations of nutritional education in Diabetes” at the debate forum “Update in Diabetes”. Soria, 3 November 2016.
- Lecturer on the course “Update in the management of the hospitalised patient with diabetes” (4 hours). CUN, Pamplona, 31 May and 4 June 2019.
