MD (1999) and PhD (2007) in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Navarra. Board-certified specialist in Anesthesiology and Critical Care at Clínica Universidad de Navarra.

Attending physician in Anesthesiology and Critical Care in the Department of Anesthesiology–Critical Care at Clínica Universidad de Navarra.

RESEARCH AREAS

Principal Investigator of the project “Development of secondary hyperalgesia and acute morphine tolerance with therapeutic intraoperative fentanyl levels,” approved by the Ethics Committee of the Government of Navarre.

Activity

In teaching

Associate Professor of Anesthesiology–Critical Care at the School of Medicine, University of Navarra.

He has also participated in the doctoral courses of the Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care at Clínica Universidad de Navarra, teaching the session on “Acute opioid tolerance,” and in four others as an instructor and speaker.

In research

He has published 5 articles in specialty journals and is co-author of the book Total Intravenous Anesthesia. Basic Principles. He has delivered 20 presentations at national and international conferences.

Winner of the award for Best Presentation in Regional Anesthesia for Pediatric Surgery, presented by Braun during the 9th FEAPA International Meeting on Pediatric Anesthesia and the 5th National Meeting on Pediatric Anesthesia of SEDAR, for the presentation “Combination of regional with general anesthesia reduces the end-tidal sevoflurane concentration while maintains the same BIS values”.
