Professional career

Medical degree (2003) and PhD in Medicine (2013) from the Universidad de Navarra. Specialist in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Clínica Universitaria de Navarra.

He completed his training in endocrinology and reproduction with a one-year stay at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in North Carolina (USA).

He completed several courses at national reference centers to further his training in diagnostic and surgical hysteroscopy, laparoscopic surgery, and tubal microsurgery.

RESEARCH AREAS

  • Influence of nutritional determinants on couple infertility and other gynecologic disorders.
  • Influence of stress on fertility.
  • NaProTechnology (Natural Procreation Technology).
  • Treatment of infertility without embryo manipulation.
  • Conservative management of symptomatic benign disease: fibroids, endometriosis.
  • High-risk obstetrics.

  • High-risk obstetrics. Routine and high-risk prenatal care.
  • General gynecology. 
  • Benign surgery (fibroids, cysts, abscesses, heavy bleeding).
  • Gynecologic endocrinology (amenorrhea and menstrual disorders, anovulation, polycystic ovary syndrome, menopause, etc.).
  • Fertility.
  • Surgical treatment of fertility-related conditions (endometriosis, uterine fibroids, ovarian cysts, polycystic ovary syndrome, tubal microsurgery, etc.).
  • Minimally invasive surgery. Laparoscopy. Hysteroscopy.

In teaching

  • Associate Professor with a PhD (Profesor Contratado Doctor) of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the School of Medicine, Universidad de Navarra.
  • Teaching Collaborator for the Human Reproduction and Human Sexuality courses at the School of Medicine, Universidad de Navarra.
  • Teaching Collaborator for the Preclinical course at the School of Medicine, Universidad de Navarra.

In research

Author and co-author of numerous articles in international journals and of several book chapters in Obstetrics and Gynecology, as well as on women’s health and reproductive health.

He has presented numerous oral and written presentations at national and international congresses related to his specialty.
