Professional career

Degree in Medicine from the University of Navarra.

Specialist in Neurosurgery at the “Lozano Blesa” University Hospital in Zaragoza. PhD in Medicine from the University of Zaragoza.

He has furthered his training through international fellowships at Baptist Hospital of Miami, Florida, USA (Dr. S. González-Arias); Hochtaunus Kliniken in Bad Homburg, Frankfurt, Germany (Dr. D. Rosenthal); and Tirol Kliniken in Innsbruck, Austria (Prof. C. Thomé).

He has participated in medical outreach projects in Jacaltenango, Guatemala, and is a member of the NED Foundation (Neurosurgery, Education and Development), with which he took part in one of its missions in Mombasa, Kenya (Coast General Hospital).

He has completed the “European Spine Course Diploma Curriculum” awarded by EUROSPINE (the Spine Society of Europe) and the “Global Spine Diploma” awarded by the prestigious international organization AO Spine. He also holds a Master’s Degree in Spine Surgery from CEU Cardenal Herrera University.

AREAS OF INTEREST

His main interest focuses on spinal disorders.
Although he treats any spinal segment, he is especially dedicated to cervical and thoracic pathology. His experience in oncologic pathology of neural origin and thoracic disc herniations stands out

Activity

In teaching

He has been an Associate Professor of Medicine at the Universidad de Zaragoza.
He is currently a Collaborating Professor at the School of Medicine, Universidad de Navarra, in the Neurology and Neurosurgery and Neuroanatomy courses (Integrated organ systems II)

In research

Author of 15 articles published in national and international journals and 20 book chapters related to his specialty.
He has presented more than 40 papers at national and international conferences in his specialty.
