Professional career
Medical degree from the University of Granada in 1988 and PhD in Medicine from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid in 1993.
Attending physician in Interventional Cardiology at the Meixoeiro-MEDTEC hospitals in Vigo (1996-2003) and Hospital Clínic i Provincial de Barcelona (2003-2006), and Head of Endovascular Service at Hospital Virgen Macarena in Seville (2006-2021). Diploma in Healthcare Resources Management (ESADE, 2008).
RESEARCH AREAS
- Principal investigator in 4 clinical trials related to the benefit of stem cell treatment in diabetic foot.
AREAS OF INTEREST
- Prevention of ischemic stroke through endovascular approaches (percutaneous left atrial appendage closure, patent foramen ovale closure, and carotid revascularization).
- Endovascular treatment of cardiac valve disease, aortic and mitral.

First author of 22 articles published in national and international journals, related to research work in the field of coronary and structural cardiac interventionism, as well as endovascular interventionism.
Editor of the book “Practical Manual of Transradial Catheterization”.
