Professional career

Holds a Degree in Medicine and Surgery from the Complutense University of Madrid (1999) and is a specialist in Anesthesiology, Resuscitation, and Pain Therapy from Hospital Universitario de la Princesa (2005).

Has obtained the European Diploma in Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care (EDAIC) (2007) and was a fellow of the European Society of Anaesthesiology in anesthesia for liver transplant at St James University Hospital (UK, 2008).

Advanced Trauma Life Support certificate, 2011.

PhD in Medicine from the University of Navarra (2016).

RESEARCH AREAS

  • Collaborating research member in research studies of the European Network Clinical Trial of the European Society of Anesthesiology.
  • Development of a prediction scale for postoperative pulmonary complications in lung resection surgery.

AREAS OF INTEREST

  • Clinical activity carried out in the operating room area, ICU, anesthesia outside the operating room, and outpatient clinic.
  • Clinical interest in anesthesia for thoracic surgery. Research on pulmonary complications in lung resection surgery and on postoperative pain management in thoracic surgery.
  • Member of the Malignant Hyperthermia Working Group of the Spanish Society of Anesthesiology.

Activity

In teaching

  • Examiner for the European Diploma in Anaesthesia and Intensive Care (EDAIC) for the European Society of Anaesthesiology.
  • Associate Clinical Professor at the School of Medicine, University of Navarra since 2008.
  • Member of the Teaching Committee of Clínica Universidad de Navarra from September 2007 to October 2012.

In research

  • Author of 6 book chapters and 17 articles published in national and international journals. 
  • Has delivered 13 presentations at courses and congresses and has presented 20 communications and posters at congresses and scientific meetings of the specialty.

Awards
