Dr. Julen Arellano
Specialist in Psychology.
Dedicated primarily to the assessment and treatment of mental health, with a particular focus on clinical psychology, sport psychology, and high-performance athletes.
Professional career
Graduated in Psychology (Clinical Psychology specialization) from the National Univer-sity of Distance Education (UNED) (2016–2020).
a Master's Degree in Sport and Physical Activity Psychology at the International University of La Rioja (UNIR) (2025–2026).
Currently pursuing a PhD at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Navarra (2025–present)
Completed residency training as a Clinical Psychology Resident (PIR) at Clínica Universidad de Navarra (2022–2026).
Currently serves as a collaborating Clinical and Sports Psychologist at Clínica Universidad de Navarra (2026–present), where he is part of the Psychology Unit for High-Performance Athletes and provides clinical care within the Department of Psychiatry and Clinical Psychology.
Additional training includes Mentalization-Based Therapy at the Anna Freud Centre (2024–present).
Postgraduate Diploma in Eating Disorders (ICNS, 2023–2024).
Specialized training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) through UNED (2024).
RESEARCH AREAS
- Participates in the Department of Psychiatry and Clinical Psychology's research programs focusing on ADHD, personality, the clinical use of esketamine, reflective functioning, psychopathology, emotion regulation, and related clinical processes.
- He also contributes to the CUVAF–Psychiatry collaborative research project and to several ongoing systematic reviews with protocols registered on the Open Science Fra-mework (OSF).

- Research interests include ADHD, personality, reflective functioning, emotion regulation, and associated clinical processes.
- Sport psychology and high-performance performance psychology.

- Collaborates in teaching at the University of Navarra, contributing to both the Psycho-logy and Medicine degree programs.
