In teaching
- Associate Professor of Medicine (accredited by ANECA). School of Medicine, University of Navarra.
- Director-Coordinator of the Infectious Diseases course in the Medical Degree program at the University of Navarra School of Medicine from the 2011-2012 through the 2023-2024 academic year, and coordinator of infectious disease content in the integrated curriculum for the 3rd through 6th years of the Medical Degree program from the 2023-2024 academic year to the present.
- Coordinator of the 4th year of the Medical Degree program at the University of Navarra School of Medicine since the 2026-2027 academic year.
- He has been awarded 2 six-year research performance periods (sexenios) recognized by the CNEAI (1996-2012 and 2013-2021).
- He has received 3 positive evaluations of teaching quality in the 2009-2012, 2013-2018, and 2019-2025 evaluation periods.
- In April 2011, he received a positive evaluation of his teaching and research activity for accreditation as Profesor Contratado Doctor and Professor at a Private University from the Directorate-General for Universities of the Spanish Ministry of Education and Science.

Approximately 40% of these papers have been published in first-quartile journals, including The Lancet, The Lancet Infectious Diseases, Clinical Infectious Diseases, Antimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy, Journal of Antimicrobial Chemotherapy, Hepatology, Haematologica, Frontiers in Immunology, European Journal of Clinical Microbiology & Infectious Diseases, American Journal of Internal Medicine, and Antibiotics.
- He has authored 45 book chapters and edited 7 medical books.
- He has supervised 3 doctoral theses (two of which received an Outstanding Thesis Award and one of which was an international doctoral thesis) and is currently supervising another.
- He has supervised 25 undergraduate final projects and has served on evaluation committees for 43 projects.
- Author/co-author of more than 160 presentations at national and international conferences. He has delivered more than 60 invited scientific lectures at national and international conferences, seminars, hospital meetings, and research centers.
