MD in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Salamanca (2013) and board-certified specialist in Anesthesiology, Critical Care, and Pain Medicine at La Paz University Hospital (2018).

Doctoral dissertation at the University of Navarra on preoperative frailty in older patients (in progress).

EDAIC Part I diploma (European Diploma in Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care), 2017.

Advanced Life Support Instructor Candidate accreditation. Generic Instructor Course, March 2018, Barcelona. Consell Català de Ressuscitació, under the European Resuscitation Council.

Accredited as a Full Instructor by the European Resuscitation Council (2022).

Activity

In teaching

  • Session on Basic Life Support (BLS) at Colegio Mayor Moncloa (Complutense University of Madrid).
  • Coordinator, Medical Club at Colegio Mayor Montalbán (Complutense University of Madrid), 2014–2016.
  • He has delivered several clinical sessions.
  • Interview in the feature: Behind the Technology - Ep. 2: Mikey Kay meets Dr Miguel, an ICU doctor in Spain (General Electric).
  • He has taught several courses as a lead instructor for the European Resuscitation Council.

In research

He has presented 5 oral and written communications at national and international conferences in his specialty.

He authored a chapter in the book “Updates in the Difficult Airway”. José Luis Iglesias González, Mª Pilar Sánchez Conde (Eds.). 

He has developed several protocols and guidelines:

  • Perioperative Medicine Guidelines, Clínica Universidad de Navarra, Madrid campus.
  • Outpatient Hip Arthroplasty Protocol, ERAS model.
  • ICU Artificial Nutrition Protocol (2021).
  • Preoperative Procedure for Outpatient Sedation Procedures (2021).
