RESEARCH AREAS

Our scientific activity has been organized around two main lines: (i) development and validation of molecular pathology tests in cytology samples, such as next-generation sequencing; (ii) development of multiplex immunofluorescence panels and automated analyses.

In 2016, our group was one of the founding groups of the “International Molecular Cytopathology Meeting Group”, formed by several international hospitals with the aim of validating next-generation sequencing techniques in cytology samples, especially smears, in lung cancer.

Since 2017, we have been part of the project “Integrative cancer-immunology and Immunoscore for cancer classification and immunotherapies”, which aims to support the translational development of new tools for the identification and quantification of immunomodulatory molecules.
