Professional career

Graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of the Basque Country (1994).

Specialist in Pulmonology from Cruces Hospital, Biscay (1998).

PhD in Medicine from the University of Navarra (2008).

Master’s Degree in Design and Statistics in Health Sciences from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (2004).

Research Fellow at Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore (USA) (2008–2010).

European Diploma in Respiratory Medicine from the European Respiratory Society (2009).

Master’s Degree in Pulmonary Hypertension from the Complutense University of Madrid (2011).

Master’s Degree in Pulmonary Vascular Diseases from the University of Bologna, Italy (2012).

Master’s Degree in Advances and Diagnosis of Sleep Disorders from the Catholic University of Murcia (2017).

Joined the Clínica Universidad de Navarra in 2000, where she is currently a Clinical Consultant in the Department of Pulmonology.

RESEARCH AREAS

  • Collaborating researcher in several projects related to lung cancer.
  • Principal investigator in the clinical trial of adult stem cells for the treatment of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis.

AREAS OF INTEREST

  • Research on the diagnosis and treatment of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis and other interstitial lung diseases.
  • Research on the diagnosis and treatment of sleep disorders.
  • Research on the diagnosis and treatment of pulmonary hypertension and pulmonary embolism.

Activity

In teaching

  • Accredited as Associate Professor by ANECA (National Agency for Quality Assessment and Accreditation of Spain).
  • Tenured Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine.
  • Director of the Clinical Training Unit at the Faculty of Medicine.
  • Resident Tutor in Pulmonology at the Clínica Universidad de Navarra since 2023.

In research

  • Has published more than 40 articles in national and international journals.
