Professional career

Graduated in Medicine and Surgery (2010) from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Granada, and earned a PhD (2016) from the University of Navarra.

Static and dynamic facial reanimation

  • Functional magnetic resonance imaging for studying brain plasticity after dynamic facial reanimation using the masseter nerve.
  • Rehabilitation of incomplete facial paralysis with the masseteric nerve.

Lymphedema

  • Histological diagnosis and molecular analysis.
  • Isotopic lymphoscintigraphy.
  • Indocyanine green lymphography.
  • Lymphaticovenular anastomosis.

Breast surgery

  • Patient satisfaction after breast reconstruction.
  • Comparison among different surgical techniques.
  • Study of late capsular contracture following distant infections.

Pressure ulcers

  • Treatment with stem cells obtained from autologous adipose tissue.

Burns

  • Postoperative complication rate in major burn surgery.
  • Analysis of graft take failure in burn patients: surgical and anesthetic variables.

Hand surgery

  • Demographics and prognostic factors in upper limb replantation.
  • Treatment of scaphoid pseudarthrosis using bone grafts or bone substitutes.
