Neuroprotection in cerebral ischemia

It have been reviewed the different mechanisms involved in the development of cerebral ischemia and infarct, as well as the possible interaction and potentiation among them.

Experimental and clinical trials undertaken with different drugs, such as glutamate antagonists, calcium channel blockers and free radical antagonists are discussed on the light of their possible application in prophylactic neuroprotection.
