Iatrogenic urinary tract injury is relatively rare in gynecological oncology.1 A recent survey2 demonstrated that there is a lack of training in urinary reconstructive surgery after radical procedures in gynecological oncology as only 25% of the participants confessed to feeling comfortable performing ureteral reimplantation.

This video lecture (Video 1) presents the basic principles of urinary reconstruction in gynecological oncology (Figure 1). It also shows how to reconstruct an iatrogenic bladder dome injury as well as the different options available for reconstruction of the urinary tract after ureteral injury both distally and proximally.
