Adjustable centration of subluxated multifocal intraocular lens in upright position

Recently, Ton et al.1 described the use of a capsular anchor (AssiAnchor, Hanita Lenses) in 6 patients with subluxated intraocular lenses (IOLs).
This device was also helpful in recentering the multifocal subluxated IOL–capsular bag complex by scleral fixation. We agree with the idea that it is not necessary to puncture the capsule for scleral fixation, although we think it should be difficult to open a capsular bag and to introduce the anchor because the IOL is unstable in subluxated eyes. We congratulate the authors on their results.
Their technique is another approach of the many feasible options for placement of subluxated IOLs. Different surgical procedures have been suggested recently in the consultation section of this journal by Masket et al.,2 with an emphasis on IOL centration, especially when dealing with multifocal IOLs. Ton et al.1 also explained that adjusting the suture tension is important to place the IOL centrally....
