Half a century of history

1952. The General Study Centre is born in Navarra, the seed for the future University of Navarra

1954. The School of Medicine, is created, the future Faculty

1959. The Postgraduate Medical School was opened, serving as the embryo for the Clínica Universitaria.

1961. Construction of the Clínica's first building begins, with a total of 19 beds. In 1962 the first phase is inaugurated.

1969. The second phase of the centre is opened. The number of beds increases to 200. 

1976. Finalisation of the third phase of the Clínica, including an expansion of the Medical Consultancy Area.

1984. The fourth phase begins to house leading technology (magnetic resonance, linear accelerators and nuclear medicine). The Out-Patient’s building is comprised in this phase with a separate Entrance from the Main one. It was opened in 1997 with a surface area of 18,000 m².

2005. In March, the building of the fifth-phase, with eight floors, was completed. This building, which houses the new ICU, has 76 rooms equipped with all the latest technology.
