Kidney Health Specialty Clinic

Our Kidney Health Clinic focuses on the prevention, early detection, and treatment of chronic kidney disease (CKD), a condition that affects more than 10% of the population and, despite its frequency, remains undiagnosed in over 50% of cases.

We pay special attention to people with diabetes, obesity, smoking habits, cardiovascular disease, or advanced age—key risk factors for developing CKD.

In its early stages, CKD is usually asymptomatic, which is why we recommend a simple annual screening: a blood test (to measure creatinine and calculate the glomerular filtration rate) and a urine sample to detect proteins, early markers of kidney damage. If any abnormalities are found, we design a personalized plan combining lifestyle changes (weight control, a low-salt diet, regular exercise, smoking cessation) and, when indicated, pharmacological treatments proven to slow the progression of the disease.

The kidneys are much more than “urine producers”: they remove waste and excess fluids, regulate blood pressure, balance minerals such as sodium, potassium, and calcium, help produce red blood cells, and contribute to bone health.

Taking care of them today means protecting your heart, your energy, and your quality of life in the future.
