RESUMEN
We presents a series of 42 children, in whom subcutaneous ports were implanted for a prolonged venous access.
Are described the technical aspects of implantation and maintenance are its usefulness in hospital practice, and apparent complications during its use thus presented in an attempt to prevent their occurrence.
