Figures at the close of the year September 2005-September 2006

The Clínica Universitaria de Navarra employs over 2,300 professional staff of which 365 are Physicians. A characteristic of the Clínica is that while the Physicians work exclusively for the Clínica thay are not only to healthcare activities, but teaching and research also form a major part of their functions.

In 2005, the Clínica carried out a total of 136,667 patient consultations and formalised 13,828 hospital admissions, with an average stay of 6.1 days. It also attended 9,616 emergencies, carried out 12,375 surgical operations, and recorded 84,767 hospital stays, with an average stay of 6.1 days. 

Over half the patients who come to the Clínica Universitaria de Navarra Spain, with 46.52% come from the neighbouring radius near the Clínica.

Moreover, its patients are from a total of 53 countries covering five continents, especially from Portugal which represents 2% of the total. An important number of patients come from countries such as France, Venezuela, United Kingdom, Israel and Andorra.

According to a survey carried out in 2006 with 500 patients, the aspects they most valued from the range of services offered by the Clínica are:

  4. Advice and information received regarding the patient’s health problem.

Technology

The Clínica especially strives to acquire state-of-the-art technologies, such as the Open Magnetic Resonance equipment (MRI), the helicoidal Computerised Axial Tomography (CT scan), the Positron Emission Tomography (PET and PET-TC), the Gammagraphy, the densitometry, the Bod Pod, the ABBI and MIBB, the High-Energy Linear Accelerators or LASIK technology. What's more, several types of transplants are also performed in the Clínica Universitaria with satisfactory results matching the same level as world-renowned centres: heart, liver, kidney, corneas and bone transplants.
