Joint Commission International Credentials

Joint Commission International Accreditation since 2004. The Joint Commission is an independent non-profitmaking organization dedicated to improving the quality of care delivered to patients by healthcare organizations at the international level.

Other Accreditations

Prize for Excellence in Hospital Quality (2007). Awarded by the Avedis Donabedian Foundation, the aim of this prize is to recognize the efforts of all the organizations, hospitals, primary healthcare centres and socio-healthcare centres which offer programmes for the continual improvement of healthcare quality at the national and international level.

The Spanish Corporate Reputation Monitor (MERCO). In 2006 the Clínica Universitaria was included in the ranking of the 100 companies with the best corporate reputation in Spain. To be precise it was first in the ranking for healthcare institutions and 74^th in the general ranking.

OCU-Salud Magazine The Clínica Universitaria is considered one of the best centres in the whole of Spain for treatments corresponding to the following areas: Digestive System, Cardiology, Neurology, Oncology and Otorhinolaryngology.

Healthcare Institution of the Decade (1984-1993/1994-2003). On two consecutive occasions the Clínica Universitaria de Navarra has won this award for the best healthcare institution of the decade. The prize is awarded by Edimsa (Editores Médicos S.A.).

1984-1993
Editores Médicos S.A. awarded this prize to the Clínica to coincide with the celebration of its first decade as a publishing company. The quality of its healthcare, high specialization, advanced technology and multidisciplinary approach, as well as its personalized treatment of the patient, were the key factors that determined their choice.

1994-2003
In December 2003 the Clínica Universitaria was designated best healthcare institution of the decade for the second time running. It was chosen by more than 5,000 doctors from all over Spain. The prize-giving ceremony took place on 18 December 2003.

Marketing Club of Navarra Prize
In 1994 the Marketing Club of Navarra awarded this prize to the Clínica for its technological development.

Special Award, Chamber of Commerce, Navarra.
The Chamber of Commerce and Industry for Navarre awarded a 'Special Prize' to the Clínica Universitaria in 2004. The prize was awarded "for its contribution to healthcare development in Navarra and for its repercussions on growth in the service sector and the economy of Navarra in general, as well as making Navarre known worldwide".

Best Private Healthcare Management
In 2005 the Clínica received the prize for Best Private Healthcare Management, awarded by the Medical Economics publishing group.

Best Organization in Navarra
The Clínica Universitaria has also been selected for the prize for the ‘Best Organization in Navarra’ by the magazine Mundo Empresarial Europeo.  

The Clínica is also a pioneer in launching various activities designed to improve services offered to patients. Worthy of mention is the Clinical Safety Campaign, which, using the slogan "Your Care makes us Safer", was started in 2005 with the aim of improving clinical safety even further, especially in the following areas:
