Accessibility

The pages of the website www.cun.es have been designed and reviewed according to the guidelines defined in the document 'Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 1.0' created by the WAI workgroup belonging to W3C.

The objective of these guidelines is to facilitate access to the information offered from the Internet to all citizens.  The following are among the principal measures that have been adopted: 

Standards

The language used for the contents and its structure is HTML 4.01, and to make the elements available and to present those in a graphic way Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) have been used.  All the pages have been validated as HTML 4.01 and WSS 2.0.

Images

All the images contain a brief description through the alt sign. 

Links

All the links contain a description through the title sign.

Size of the text

The sources used have relative dimensions, which allow the user control its size from the browser that is being used. 

Browsing

The web site facilitates coherent browsing maintaining the same structure in all its pages.  This structure consists of: 

  • A horizontal browser bar in the upper part of the pages with links to the main sections of the web. 
  • A vertical browser menu, located in the right hand margin, from which you can access all the contents of each section. 
  • Another horizontal browser bar in the lower part of the pages, from which you can access the Accessibility, Legal Advise, and web Map sections.  
  • A central area in which the contents of the web site are shown 
Design

This web site uses layers and sheets of the cascade style (CSS) for the visual design of the pages.  In this way, the content is independent of the presentation, and its users that do wish to browse for the information disabling the downloading of style sheets from their computer. 

Level of accessibility

The site www.cun.es reaches the level of accessibility A with the following out of a few double A (AA) rules.
